Around us there is an inaudible dimension of sound generated by human technologies and machines. We have captured these electromagnetic fields and present you VOLT, a versatile tool for designing electric sounds with extrem manipulation options. Create energetic movements, sci-fi elements, futuristic engines and weapons, massive impacts or use the sounds as a resource for UI design and the layering of complex ambiences.
This collection brings you many different electromagnetic recordings as well as pre-designed risers, stingers, drones, user interface sounds and whooshes. You also get a huge toolkit section with loops and oneshots for crafting your own sounds from scratch, optimized for a smooth workflow in samplers like S-Layer.
Our sound hunt took us through extensive recordings of screens, household devices, smartphones, computers, car ignitions and interiors, motors, lights, fuseboxes, synthesizers and much more using a Soma Ether stereo setup and a LOM Elektrouši with a Sound Devices Mix-Pre 6 recorder. The stereo recordings of the Soma Ether often result in a dynamic panorama with unique signals on each channel. Since electromagnetic fields extend to very high frequencies, we recorded the sounds in 192khz so you have the full spectrum and potential to let your creativity run wild and design something entirely new.

Well-organized sound libraries improve your workflow and save a lot of time. That’s why our sound effects are categorized according to the Universal Category System and embedded with rich descriptive metadata.
The UCS aims at a consistent categorization of sound effects, a uniform file name structure and easier maintenance of a sound effects library.

Volt is a beast! It’s high quality electronic & electric sounds recorded with high quality gears. You have a lot of those, each really differents and for this price it’s pretty nice!

Having purchased quite a few sample packs over the years, I have often been disappointed with the products I have received either due to price or quality issues…but I can say with the VOLT Electromagnetic Fields collection I was very pleasantly surprised. You get an excellent selection of high-quality samples that represent great value for money.
This sample pack is split into three sections each with its own folder…
The DESIGNED folder contains a selection of ambient and synthesized sounds for use in many types of music, video production or sound design applications.
The RECORDINGS folder is fantastic and
has an excellent variety of sounds that cover a wide range of relevant subject matter…glitches, electric motors, computer hardware, electronic noise, machine buzz, earth-hum, electro-magnetic interference, digital signal noise, static and zapping electrical and plasma discharges are just a few of the included sounds.
The TOOLS folder as the name suggests has some useful sound design tools with sub-folders for LOOPS and ONE SHOTS.
The VOLT Electromagnetic Fields Sample Pack contains an excellent selection of high-quality recordings that cover the full audio spectrum from deep bass to high frequency which will suit the needs of a variety of editors, musicians, sound designers and producers and as such come highly recommended.
