INTRODUCTION
As a field recordist, there are many different things to consider. Especially when recording nature sounds, it is very important to perceive and evaluate the acoustic environment accurately. Nowadays, almost all areas are affected by noise pollution and quiet places are hard to find, which makes the work much more difficult. Therefore, it is essential to deal with soundscapes and to know how noise can affect the environment.
In this series we will explain soundscape research and important terminology for the analysis of soundscapes. We’ll show you the effects of man-made sounds on nature and human beings and explain various aspects of sound studies, from auditory urban planning to the art form of soundscape composition.
